Your Safety

Now that you are on my web site, I think it is time that I address some important issues regarding your personal safety while visiting me here at Camp David and enjoying your Copper Canyon tour. I’m sure that you have read about the violence experienced in the big cities and border towns here in Mexico. However, I want to assure you that you will feel completely at home and safe here in the small farming community of Ahome where I am located. ( a village that is over 400 years old). I have a 14 foot brick wall surrounding Camp David strictly for privacy, as the local children LOVE to come in and see the tourists, and can sometimes be a pest. Your plane will land in Los Mochis International Airport, bypassing all the border towns where the violence has been reported. If you have the time and wish to include the 6 night 7 day tour to the beach, I can assure you that this area is also secure and very safe. On the short trip to the ocean you will see all the local people waving a friendly hand to us and when we arrive at our private beach site and beautiful ocean front cabana, you will notice around the clock watchmen to oversee the homes and privacy of the guests. While on the Copper Canyon tour you are seldom in a large city, and then only for a few moments while waiting for a private van that will pick you up and whisk you away from the train depot to your lodges The Canyon lodges are in very small villas where you will be in a completely relaxing environment with no threat of any kind. Last season over 20,000 individuals enjoyed the Copper Canyon and not even one experienced any violence of any kind.
